Digging a little deeper on the Television Selection

Posted on | January 9, 2010 | No Comments

As we said, there are many selections for televisions and this is television season. Televisions are getting thinner, with higher contrast ratios and higher pixel counts. The Sony Bravia LCD Flat Panel HDTV is a HDTV 1080P (1980×1080). Some people say the picture jumps right out of the screen. I don’t have this model television but I have sat in the store and watched some 1080P Blue Ray movies. I will say that the picture is phenomenal. Prices are coming down. I have a 52 inch and paid close to 3K two years for a similar model but different brand.  I’m not going to disclose the brand because many of these brands share parts manufacturers. In many cases, the actual brand simply provides the shell and the “look” of the TV. That’s not always the case but it certainly happens quite a bit. Take a look at the sleek Sony Bravia:

The Panasonic Viera is another popular model in 2010. This 54″ TV is also 1080p and going for about $1499.  Take a look at their design:

Lastly, the Sharp AQUOS LCD is also a 1080p and the 52 inch goes for as little as $700. See below:

I highly recommend going to see the picture at the store for these televisions. Buying it online is a great way to get it to your house but it’s really nice to see the picture before you purchase. There are a variety of price ranges and the picture quality is something everyone should judge for themselves.  Televisions are fun to check out so Happy shopping!
