Security

We love to travel and visit many places around the world. The fact is that not every place is as secure as it is at home. For one thing, we are always more secure when we are familiar with our surroundings and are the ones that take the steps to make our surroundings more secure. On the road, one of the things you can do to increase security is to do research on the city, the places you plan to visit and the places you will stay. It’s also a good idea to visit the government sponsored websites about the country you’re visiting, register your trip with the embassy and that way the US Government knows that you are there. It’s a good idea. Yes, it’s big brother but big brother is a good thing when there’s trouble.

Now, at home, security is up to you. The United States certainly has it’s share of crime. Home Security is essential. There are many ways to be secure at home. Dogs make great security alarms as they tend to hear things we don’t. Of course, my dog also keeps me awake during all Thunderstorms as well. She’s not much of a protector but she’ll alert me if something is wrong (usually). I also have a Home Security System. It’s nice to know my house is being monitored when I’m away and, for me, I like turning it on at night. I like to know that, if my perimeter is breached, I’m going to be alerted and ADT will also be alerted. It does several things: 1) it’s likely to scare any intruder, 2) it alerts me to get my primary security system ready (Colt 45) and 3) authorities will be notified by a friend monitoring your home alarm systems. It’s a nice back up for about a dollar a day.

ADT is the system I use. I’m x-military and they’re affiliated with USAA. I’m a fan of customer service. Click on the link below and you’ll see if they service your state: Home Security Monitoring
