Music for the Beach

I was about to head down to the beach yesterday and my friend told me about this new site called Rhino. I always used itunes in the past, but I figured I was open to new ideas. This site is pretty cool because you can purchase traditional CDs or download the music via the internet. I don’t have a record player, but they also offer old school records for the real audiophiles out there.

I was looking for the led zepplin box set and of course they had it for a great price. I’m not sure why, but zepplin seemed like the right music for the perfect day in front of me.

Of course you probably get this without me mentioning it, but they also have other artists! You can get your fill of new order cds or if you are really into a mix of music, get your jersey boys cd too!

I guess my point is that everyone on the beach, whether it is in Playa del Carmen or elsewhere need music. “Musica” as it’s called here. So, consider branching out beyond itunes and give rhino a quick check. I bet itunes doesn’t have record, you know the big round plastic things, for sale!

Thinking through it a bit more, I also have to ask myself why music isn’t played on at least some of the beaches. I know, many people will say that would be annoying. But, have you ever been to a ski slope where one or two bump runs play music? It’s kind of nice (provided it’s good music) and they don’t do it on the whole mountain. Part of me wonders if there would be a way to pull it off in a beach setting so that it is more like a beach party, but not so crazy that the peaceful part of beach going is threatened.

Well, who knows, get some music and enjoy it your own way!
